ReadyFamily

Description: Ready Family adapts existing Extension disaster planning programs and materials for families and individuals into the Ready Community program suite. Participants are guided in creation of a disaster plan and disaster kit. Topics include deciding if/when to evacuate, essentials to have ready for evacuation or sheltering (e.g., supplies, documents and medication), pet care, food safety, financial preparedness, stress management, and tips for returning home and beginning recovery safely.

Target Audience: Adult community residents of all demographics. Some materials available in Spanish.

Length:  Full program 2-3 hours but individual materials can be adapted for 15-30 minute inclusion in other programs. Presenters could form a series or focus on areas of specific concern. Materials may also be adapted for newsletter or blog series.

Cost: Depends on out of pocket costs for facilities and refreshments, etc.

Participants: No minimum

Scheduling: Suitable for delivery by any knowledgeable individual (volunteers, County Extension Agents). Includes all instructional materials and guidance. Additional information is available through point of contact below.
